Weaver is a Microsoft Edge extension that organizes tabs and windows. Its core processing happens locally in Microsoft Edge. Weaver does not operate an account system, analytics service, advertising service, or cloud service.
To provide its user-facing features, Weaver uses Microsoft Edge extension APIs to access information about open tabs and windows, including:
Weaver uses this information to display and search tabs, sort and move tabs, merge windows, identify duplicate tabs, suspend or resume tabs, and save or restore named window snapshots. Weaver does not access page content or inject scripts into websites.
Weaver stores the following data in Microsoft Edge extension storage on the user’s device:
When restoring tabs, Weaver may temporarily keep the saved title and URL in Microsoft Edge’s session-only extension storage so each restored tab remains identifiable while its page loads. That temporary metadata is removed after Microsoft Edge provides the tab’s current metadata, the tab navigates, the tab closes, or the browser session ends.
Weaver accesses, processes, and stores the information described above only on the user’s device. It does not transmit that information to the developer or any third party. Weaver does not sell personal information and does not share information with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.
Microsoft Edge may retrieve a website’s icon through its normal browser behavior when that icon is displayed. This is browser behavior and is not a separate transmission of the user’s tab list by Weaver.
Users can view and manage saved windows in Weaver’s Saved Windows page and manage preferences and custom rules in its Settings page. They can rename or delete saved windows, change or delete custom rules, clear Weaver’s extension data through Microsoft Edge, or uninstall Weaver.
Saved windows and settings remain in Microsoft Edge extension storage until the user changes or deletes them, clears the extension’s data, or uninstalls Weaver. Session-only restored-tab metadata does not persist after the Microsoft Edge session.
Weaver requests the tabs, tabGroups, and storage permissions. These permissions are used only for the tab and window-management features described in this policy. Weaver does not request host permissions, inject scripts into websites, or execute remotely hosted code.
Weaver accesses browsing activity only when needed for its prominently disclosed tab and window-management features. Its use of Microsoft Edge extension APIs and user information follows the Microsoft Edge Add-ons developer policies.
If Weaver’s data practices materially change, this policy, the Microsoft Edge Add-ons disclosure, and the in-product About information will be updated before the new behavior is enabled.
Privacy questions can be sent to weavertabmanager@gmail.com. Do not include tab titles, URLs, saved-window contents, or other browsing data in a public report.
